ISLAND ROOTS MUSIC GROUP • BRANDING
Brand identity built around a vinyl record and a palm tree.

OVERVIEW
Island Roots Music Group is a record label operating in Jamaican R&B, gospel, and reggae music. For over 15 years the brand ran on a generic logo and disconnected visuals that might have worked in the past, but doesn't hold up today. There were real artists and a real story, it just wasn't showing up visually.

THE PROBLEM
No brand identity
The label's visuals were all over the place and didn't feel connected. The headphone logo was generic and there wasn't a color system in place that tied everything together. For a record label based on Jamaican artistry and music, it didn't feel Jamaican.

THE GOAL
One system, unmistakably Jamaican
Island Roots needs a logo, type system, and color palette, and that read unmistakably Jamaican and unmistakably music. The visuals needed to be recognizable at a glance and consistent all the way around.
